Where is Cursed Orchard Haunted Hayride?We are located immediately off of Connecticut Route 82 on Petticoat Lane in East Haddam, CT. Check out our directions page for more information. Are bags permitted?No, bags are not permitted. Please leave any bags in your vehicle.

How can I become an actor/ess?If you are 16 years or older click on the “Volunteer” link at the top of the page and submit your information.

Can I bring kids?We feel that parents are the best judge of whether your child will be too scared or not. Some 14 year olds have a great time while some 34 year olds whimper and cry! Our policy is that we don’t recommend our hayride attraction for children under 16 years old. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Should I come if I'm pregnant?You can come, but we do not recommend that you participate simply as a safety precaution. The bumpy trails and scares are not suitable for those who are pregnant.

Should I come if flashing lights bother me?We do not recommend attending Cursed Orchard Haunted Hayride as there may be strobes used in the attraction. Please consult with a doctor before you arrive.

What should I wear?The fall season can result in cool nights so even if it is warm during the day, it may get chilly at night. Dress in layers. Also, you are coming to a farm so please don't wear your best clothes and shoes. The Cursed Orchard property is a working orchard and does not consist of stone or paver pathways - uneven turf and mud should be expected.

Can I dress in costume?Feel free to come wearing a costume if you would like, however most people do not. You may be asked to leave certain accessories in your vehicle, at crew members' discretion. Costume masks are NOT permitted. Only medical masks are allowed for the safety of all staff and guests.

When is the best time to arrive?We highly encourage you to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled boarding time. The ticket booth opens at 7 pm on most nights. When purchasing your ticket online (highly recommended), you will select a time for your entry, and should plan to be on the property at that time. If you are purchasing a ticket onsite, arrive at least 10 minutes before you hope to board the hayride.

Am I allowed to bring my dog or other pet?We do not allow pets of any kind. Only service animals are permitted, but the environment and general nature of the hayride may not be an appropriate place for a service animal. Please be advised that the animal will be exposed to large crowds, loud noises, and intense situations. Please use discretion. There are no other pets or emotional support animals permitted on the property.

Where can I park?We use a shared parking lot with Yankee Cider Company and all visitors are welcome to make use of this parking area. Follow signs for "Yankee Cider Company Parking" on Petticoat Lane, East Haddam.

Do you charge for parking?We share a parking lot with Yankee Cider Company at 18 Petticoat Lane (For GPS use 23 Petticoat Lane). This is a free, gravel parking area - we do not charge for parking.

Where do I go?After parking, there is a main gate in the orchard. An attendant will start taking tickets 10 minutes before boarding and will direct you to the boarding platform for the hayride.

What if I miss my wagon?If you miss your designated hayride time and the wagon leaves without you, we will do our best to place you on the next available wagon for that same night. We do not offer refunds for missed wagons and will not reassign your ticket to another night.

Are there restrooms available?There are portable toilets available on site at the ticket taking area just inside the main orchard gate.

Is there food available?The Yankee Cider Company Tap Room will be open during the hours of the hayride and has snack foods available like pretzel sticks and cider donuts.

Can I pay with a credit card?We strongly encourage visitors to purchase tickets ahead of time through the FearTicket portal, which can accept credit cards. At-the-door ticket sales are cash only.

Can I bring a flashlight or cell phone?No, flashlights are not permitted and cell phones are discouraged. There have been many cell phones lost along the trails because our hay wagons have only semi-enclosed sides. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items and it will not be possible to search for them at night during operating hours.

Can I use my ticket on a different night than the one that I purchased it for?Your tickets are final after you complete your purchase. Cursed Orchard Haunted Hayride cannot change your arrival time or event date.

What if I can't print my tickets?You can bring the bar code on your phone or bring your order number and the last 4 digits of the credit card used to purchase your tickets and we can verify your tickets at the ticket booth.

Are you affiliated with any other haunted attractions?No. Cursed Orchard Haunted Hayride is only located in East Haddam, Connecticut. We have no association with any other haunts although some may use similar names.
